Well it started years ago in my 71 340 duster with a 2.76 rear gear. A few cars were heading to Toronto to check out the local late night street racing. A Camaro flies by all of us. We all of course try to catch it. One by one the other cars start to fall back, geared too high. I was slowly catching it, got to the bumper, but had to slow down because of traffic ahead. When I looked down I was going 143, still pulling slightly. Man when I hit the brakes that thing used up all 3 lanes to slow down, lol. I can laugh now, but my passenger and I were pretty quiet for awhile. Then several years after that I had my 70 Cuda on a freshly paved new highway. Middle of the day, no cars around, nice 440, 4 spd. I hit 153 i think, well it was a bit past 150 anyway, I think it would have done 155. And yes both cars had accurate (well at 60mph) speedo's. It sure sounded sweet, car floated a little. Nice new smooth road, beautiful day, it was allot of fun. But with all this said, I was pretty stupid, both speeds were way to fast for the cars and tires.
