I hit 150 in the Jeep SRT8 in my picture. Too bad the limiter kicked in...might've seen 160 the way it was still pulling.
The picture only shows 140 on the speedo though...that was from another time.

I did 150 mph on the A3 autobahn in Germany in my 1995 Porsche 911 twin Turbo. I was very scared  .
Last month I flew back to Germany (when moving my Porsche back to the UK)  and tried to duplicate this feat while holding a camera but I was shaking too much and managed to hit 140 mph only briefly.

i had my cuda wound out as fast as she would go was floating the valves at a lil over six grand with 3.55 gears. speedo doesn't work and i got pulled over! he said he couldn't clock me i was blessed that night!!

my boss at work took me for a ride in his challenger last week. I had not been in it before. I think he only took it up to around 160 kph but it got there so fast i could not beleive it, wow does that thing ever go, it makes my bb challenger seem slow and his is only a small block.
My car pulls really good but not like that thing it is a monster but he has slicks and it still tries to spin until it really gets going.

I was over 145 MPH at the race track last year with the Charger & I was only at 3500 RPM in 3rd gear with lots to go , too bad the 911 Porsche couldn`t get past until we hit the brakes LOL

Fastest I have ever driven was 137 in a 98 Rustang. We were going down down a hill, if not I dont think it would have hit that fast. Front end was starting to wonder, so I let off before I crashed my buddies new at the time Mustang

when i bought my challenger back in the early 80's,i had put a 318 in it behind the 727 tranny and 3.23 rear,,i was on the innerstate between exits,abut 3 miles apart,,i pegged the speedo at 150 and was going much faster by the time i had to exit,,slowed way down and was glad no cops were around,,dont drive that way now,,that was before wife an kids,,now i would take it to the track if i want to do that again

The srt engineers do not impose any artificial limiters on their cars. I topped out at 152 on a gps in my srt jeep. Hit the "drag" wall for the stock combo. Have not tried tried it again with mods. I have had my challenger to 164 before I ran out of room. Should go another 10-12mph stock with more room.

  Back in the eighties my buddy had a '69 super bee (383 car with a 440 ,4 spd)...we raced a 396SS chevelle on an empty stretch of divided 4 lane black top....he buried the 150mph clock...so how fast... I don't know...i just remember seeing the grill of the chevelle for a very short period of time and having to clean the passenger seat after

I'm new... but you asked... yet it was in a Chevy (so sorry). I did get pulled over, but no ticket. The story goes like this: I was heading down I-35 from MN to TX for the start of the Hot Rod Power Tour a few years ago ('04?). Somewhere in MO I was daydreaming and started thinking "aren't these supposed to do 167 mph from the factory". It was an '01 Corvette stock, just with some aftermarket exhuast on it. It was a straight open area, so I nailed it. 100...110...120...130...140 and I came up on some traffic, so backed down to near the speed limit. A little later...110...120...130...140...142 IT SHIFTS (automatic) INTO OVERDIVE (blew me away a shift at that speed - but all right)...150...155... two semi's ahead following each other - not close - so I know the one won't pull out to pass the other... pass the semi's at 165... and come up on traffic again. I slow and pull over in to the right lane again... doing 73-4-5 or so in the 70mph zone. Within minutes a Highway Patrol comes up on me, and pulls in behind me. My heart is in my throat! What can I say? It won't be just a ticket... they'll tow the car, I'll be in jail, I won't make the show, this is going to be EXPENSIVE!!! He flips on the lights, I pull over and sit in the car. He gets out, walks up slowly, kind or running his fingers along the car as he walks up (I'm seeing this in the rear view mirror - it's okay - as I want to live). Asks for my license... where I'm going... then says he'll be right back. Well my driving record is pretty good, but 165mph?  He comes back, hands me my license, and says "I can't give you a ticket because I didn't see it - but it was called in there was a White Blur going dam fast a few miles back - and I figure it was you. I suggest you slow down"... He walks away, I sit and take a deep breath, then take off slowly. Have not gone over the speed limit by more than 10mph since. Man. 165pm, pulled over, and no ticket. Call me lucky. Stupid too.

Great story and well told. 

A number of years ago, a buddy of mine was touring with a few friends on motorcycles and they hit an open stretch of California's Hwy 166 - very wide open, so they upped the speed.  No cars around, good visibility, just having a little fun when they passed a CHP cruiser parked on the side.  They slowed down and the officer caught up and pulled them over.  My friend stopped a bit behind his friends, so the officer started with him.  My friend pulled out his license - a commercial license.  The officer looked at it and said "I hate to give you a ticket because it's a commercial license and I know what a violation can mean on one of these.  And if I let you go, I have to let your friends go too.  You folks slow it down, sir.  Have a nice day."

2 ANSWERS for me:

In the early to mid 90s I went got into the 7s at around 165 to 170. Chevy though, does it count?

I also had a 72 Challenger with a '66 Hemi in it. I went some 10.0s with it a few times but mostly drove around town. Its "the one that got away", and is why I am building me another Mopar. I just love em. I will get some pics converted for both of the cars, they are all on 35mm. Wow, I am getting old..

Now for the big speed......In March of this year I entered the Texas 200mph club on my bike. I went 206mph and 204 mph on my 08 Hayabusa, naturally aspirated, in a standing mile from a dead stop. I hurt the motor before I could spray it. I wanted to take the record for the fastest NOS bike at 228mph, but it was bumped up to 235 last month and my wife said thats enough, so I sold it to fund the Cuda.
