The fastest I ever went was in a 1970 440/6 pack Cuda.  I was going in the 130's.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Seems to be an awful lot of BS, or a nicer way to put it "exaggeration" on this topic   :iagree:

That may be true, but if you take a moment to watch the first 5 minutes of the video in the link I posted, you will clearly see the mph on the clock at the end of my pass down the 1/4.  Just because these posts don't seem correct to you, don't assume that everyone is full of BS in this thread.....     :2thumbs:

BTW---you can clearly hear the dude doing the vid saying that is Oldschool in the Cuda when I pull up on the line.  If you aren't familiar with my car, it is a green "A" body Cuda.....     :cooldancing:

Did 155 in my wife's 97 Vette.  Got pulled over once at 110 by deputy sheriff in Alabama, had just backed off from about 140, cop asked how long I've owned the car.  I had only had it a couple of months.  He let me go saying he had Z28 and he understood how hard it was to keep it down when he first got it.

the fastest i ever went was in my 340 challenger was 100 something.  it wasnt much over 100 because at that point the quality of both my installation of the pins and the hardware itself on my scooped fiberglass hood became apparent.  it came flying off and spiralled about 60 yards off into a farmers field. pretty impressive sight it got about 25-30 feet of altitude and landed with only a chip in the corner to show for the ride.

The 155 MPH limiter in my 2004 GTO works.  Thats all I have to say about that.

Seems to be an awful lot of BS, or a nicer way to put it "exaggeration" on this topic   :iagree:

Not true. Some of us grew up in the day when you could actually do that with our cars easy enough. did you know in 1970 when I had been driving a couple of years the speed signs said--any reasonable speed when you were out of the city. On the penn/ohio in 1971 , I passed police cars on the median while I was doing 120 plus and my dad would say to me, keep the needle on the speedo we dont want to hit any wet spots with the cops out. We will get a carless driving ticket.

Al, maybe because some folks haven't went as fast as some of these folks that have responded, they think think that no one has done it.  Using that logic, I have never piloted a space shuttle, so I guess no one else has either....
