Driving - 1969 GTX - approx 125
Riding - 1986 Suzuki GSXR750 - well past 135( quit looking down after that )
As a passenger in a 1970 Hemi Superbird, we were WAAAAAAAAY past the 150 speedometer coming out of Level Cross NC

I am driving a Sprint Cup car in eight days!  I'm sure my high will raise.  Pictures and numbers to come.  :bananasmi :wavingflag:
150+ MPH!!!  Drove an ARCA? car at Pocono Int'l Speedway for eight laps!  I couldn't really appreciate the speed due to no landscape/other cars to whiz by.  Also, I didn't get to mash the throttle until about the fifth lap because my BIG foot was not straight up and down on the accelerator pedal.  This was due to two flat metal plains on either side of the gas pedal and I drive with my foot diagonal to the pedal.  Once I realize it, I went oh-so much faster! Nonetheless, I hit 7k on the tach and that comes out to 150-160mph.
It was expensive but I must do it again to stretch the drive out to more laps next time; and drive my own line  :ylsuper:
HIS: '68 GMC 3/4 ton pick-up truck, '73 Barracuda, '87 Firebird, '01 Jeep Cherokee and finally a '70 Barracuda Convertible!
HERS: 1980 Toyota Starlet, 1995 SAAB 9-5 and then '01 SAAB 9-3 and currently '08 Saab 9-3 convertible!
NEXT IS MINE: purple 2010 Dodge Challenger!!!

178 mph in my 06 Charger Daytona. I drove it from Calgary Canada to Jacksonville Florida so I could ship it to Puerto Rico. I was in Kentucky or Tennessee and decided to see what it could do. The speedo only goes up to 160 so I had to watch the GPS.
Is that car stock?  I have an '06 Torred Daytona, fastest I've had it is 220kpm, it was still pulling but I let off.  I heard there was a limiter on them for 135mph.  Love that car.

220kph = 136.4 mph, so I'd say that's not the case.  Barring speedometer error, of course.

Just saw this thread and I think it's exactly right for this place. For me, it was in Dave Andrew's new 69 GTX 440 4 spd and when we passed the 428 Ford, I saw the speedo go on the peg at 160. You know, the telephone poles DO go by like a picket fence, but the push rods don't like it a lot (6 bent). Otherwise, it was 245kph on my buddy's Ninja and the beast was still pulling- Jesus, I don't tell my kids about these. :nono:

I guess it would be 155 in my 04 volvo s60r, I know it sounds crazy.  I was in Germany on the autoban, held the speed for a minute or so, was plenty fast for me...past cars like they were stopped..

I did 110 in my cuda before it runs out of gearing. Still pretty fun though!

Top speed in a porsche cayenne turbo is 171 mph...

Also I wouldn't be driving anywhere near that fast in a 35 mph if I were you. 35 mph zone tells me that it is a residential area, and it's not cool to be driving recklessly when there are other kids about.

"Back in the day" I had a 1971 RoadRunner 383/4 speed. I couldn't beat anyone in a 1/4 mile, but it looked good! Before I traded it off, I took it out and tried a top speed run, because I knew I'd always regret it if I didn't. I was going 143 by the speedo when the farm tractor pulled out onto the road in front of me. He was far enough in front that nothing bad happened, but it did scare the crap out of me.

I went about 125 on my then-new 1979 750 Honda.

It's been years and years since I've went over 100. My 94 Dodge/Cummins farm truck tops out at 91.

180 mph in my right hand drive 600 bhp Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 on the German Autobahn. An ace Skyline tuning specialist sitting next to me optimizing the engine mapping with his laptop saying "keep your right foot down, don't let off! I'm almost done with the top end of the map!".

Awesome car.  I like the lines much better than the R34's.  Too bad they're crazy expensive in the US.
