    I heard there was a limiter too. I was surprised when it got as fast as it did and too scared to see if it would go faster. I don't have any plans to do it again to double check though. It was a little too scary for me. I think my knuckles still have a little white left over in them.

    73 Challenger stock 318...105mph
    91 Daytona 2.5 non turbo 5-speed...105mph
    82 Cordoba....106mph...drag strip
    02 Stratus R/T(3.0L) 5-speed...120mph and ran out of road

    Was a passenger in...

    86 Cutlass 3.8V6...110mph...It was a friends car.  Speedometer went to 85 but we were next to some small Toyota that had a higher numbered speedo.  We were topped out but he downshifted and pulled away from us like we were standing still.  Don't know what that car was...it was just the kids POS highschool car.

    89 Shelby Daytona 2.5 Turbo 5-speed...120mph
    92 Daytona Iroc(3.0L) 5-speed...120mph
    03 Eclipse GTS(3.0L) 5-speed...135mph  and ran out of road.  My friend took that car on his honeymoon.  They came upon a long stretch of flat highway.  He says he looked over at his wife...she just rolled her eyes and said "OK".   He nailed it and got up to 148mph.

    I'm sure this is hard to believe, but my fastest speeds as driver and passenger were obtained in - oh you guesed it - VIPERS!

    May 20th, 2000 - Kershaw, South Carolina - rode with Mr. Skip Thomas himself in a race-modifed Viper at 155 miles per hour around Carolina Motorsports Park
    May('ish), 2009 - west of Newark, OH - drove my own Viper GTS to 140mph on rt. 16, Westbound to Columbus...

    He had me in it in 2010 ( I think it was?) third gear and 130 I think it was!  :2thumbs:  That can get addicting real quick! :grinyes: I'd love to see what happens in the next 3 gears! :woohoo:

    I'm talking about "way back when"---120 in my 55 Plymouth as I passed what was supposed to be a "fast" 56 Chevy.  125 in my mother-inlaw's new 59
    T-Bird.  100 in my A-108 69' Dodge van with 318.  This felt the fastest of all!  PK

    175 on an 01 Ninja ZX9R.  Needle read 182 so 175 was my estimate. 
    145 on the freeway in a 993 Porsche twin turbo.

    Nice to hear another GTR owner on here! I had a Series 3 R33 GTR, this is my 1989 R32 now (one of the first built):









    Has ~500 HP right now, (dyno dynamics at 420 HP at all 4), next round of mods should bump it to around 550 HP (it's running out of injector!).

    To be on topic for the thread, the speedo ends at 180 KPH and I haven't seen how far it will go with the new one in it.

    I have 3.55 final drive in the Challenger, so top speed is not its strength... Nor do I want it to be!

    In a 70 Dart 340 with 2.76 gears went about 130, I say about because the speedo only went to 120 in the Dart, and my needle went past 120and was down inside the dash . I had a friend of mine alongside in his Camaro with 2.50 gear and his speedo went to 140, so I have to take his word for the speed.    :bigsmile:

    120-130 in a 77 trans am. not to sure since the spedo ended at 100. but the needle kept going. I guess I'm lucky the car didn't fall apart.
