In a Mopar in 1973 in my 1970 Roadrunner 383 4 speed. I was on the New York Thruway and I got the car up to 135 with the engine screaming and the hood shaking like crazy before I chickened out. In a Chevy with my wife's 1996 Z28 on the same road we got it up to 140 and it was smooth as silk. A few years ago my daughter had my Barracuda out for a spin and when she got home she complained she couldn't get it much past 100. Man did I hit the ceiling! Not because of the car, but now I had to be the DAD!, LOL

17 years old in my 70 barracuda on a very old and narrow country road back home. 130+ absolutely top end going down hill. Don't tell my kids they think dad was a good boy. I am going to fool them as long as I can.

Watched dad bury the dream - o- meter at 120 in his barracuda.   I had it to 110 with a 400lb fat man in the passenger seat and 2 normal sized humans in the back seat while passing a Neon R/T (not SRT, the R/T version they made in the late 90's, early 2000's).

My 1986 Dodge Daytona turbo z would top out at 80 with the T-tops out   , and around 120 with them in.

AWD Turbo Eagle Talon would indicate 140.

Pegged the dream o meter at 205 on my CBR1100XX Super Blackbird (Honda motorcycle) but magazine radar tests showed a best of 189 with the clock pegged at 205 in their reviews... so I guess 189.

Drove 2 times at MIS (Michigan Intermational Speedway) Once in a Richard Petty driving experience. 147MPH. The scariest high speed run was in a mini van at MIS. We rented the track for the day for work & drove a right hand drive euro spec. van at 140MPH. Dam near as fast as the Richard Petty stock car!

About 208mph, or 181 KIAS (knots indicated air speed), as I was "driving" UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters for Uncle Sam at the time. We were in a hurry to get back to our base so I climbed to altitude and set the engines to max continuous power to get the highest ground speed. As we approached the base I nosed it over into a shallow dive, kept the power on and the airspeed indicator climbed to 181 KIAS and settled there. The 'Hawk is such a capable machine and a real pleasure to fly. It was the ultimate Sport-Utility-Vehicle. Here's a short video of one making a flyby

Not sure about the fastest, but most definitely the quickest in my '73 Challenger with the 543 stroker. As my buddy says, "It's stupid fast". I've had many big block muscle cars and many Mopars, but nothing like this and with the stock suspension, it just plain scares the  out of me. I've buried the speedo (120) more than once. It's not going 120, heck I've done that in a smooth riding Cadillac and hardly known it, It's the ride from zero to whatever that's the real thrill!! 651 ft/lbs of torque will plant the 'ole keester in the seat like there's no tomorrow!!

130 MPH + . Speedometer pegged out. '67 Chrysler "300". I was on an unopened section of the Gene Snyder Freeway in Louisville, Ky. Took all 4 lanes and about 5 miles to get it under control due to 10" drum brakes that were glazed. Knuckles still white 25 years later !

In about 1973-74 I had a 68 Firebird 400 4spd with a lot of motor work. I took a friend to just over 140 and he got so scared he was scream'in like a little girl. A year later I was racing a guy I graduated with. Keith had a 67 GTX and we were side by side at 140 going down an old county highway. Why I'm still alive I don't know.
