1973 Charger Lower control arms.... same as?
« on: November 30, 2013 - 12:40:13 AM »
Ok I'm helping out a buddy with his circle track car(Darcy) and he is using LCA's from a 73 Charger. What other cars and what years are the same? Cordoba?  Trying to round him up some spares and get them ready( weld on shock mounts. plate the bottoms etc...)

I am not sure how long they used that design , B body continued into 79 with the Cordoba / Magnum , not sure what was used in 80 with the smaller Cordoba / Mirada / 5th Ave FMJ series

That is going to be a 73-79 B body part. I believe 79-81 R bodies might also work, but I'll admit to not seeing many of them and having never looked under one to confirm that. I don't know if any mid to late 70s C bodies would also be sources.

If you know anyone with a Hollander interchange manual, they might be able to confirm.

Brad,  that upper ball joint area on that uca probably needs a gusset for track duty. Remember a member here showing pictures of the damage from a b body car that had something like that fail.

Ya I mentioned that but the guy that built them insists it won't break.  :hyper:

..and I'd be willing to bet it is going to get regular weekly inspections too.

Spent the afternoon working on it . Talked him into adding a gusset to the UCA . I'll weld one in before it hits the track. Got a engine , tranny and new over the top headers on today, next building the exhaust.
