AAR wiring harness
« on: December 05, 2013 - 01:18:52 PM »
Does anyone out there know why there is a different engine wiring harness listed for an AAR/TA
My AAR has been converted to an ECU setup, so I am not sure whether to order an AAR harness and convert it,
or just order the harness for a 340 with Electronic ignition. Any feedback would be appreciated. :clueless:

Finesse asked the 'Cuda out to dinner once, but the 'Cuda stood it up to go drink beer under an overpass with her hot little sister. As far as this car is concerned, finesse can go stuff itself."

you would have the idle solenoid wire , to the solinoid on the intake , most solinoids either no longer work or are missing though

Sounds like I need the AAR harness and just mod it for the ECU hookup.
Thanks for the info!!

the ECU is just a added wire onto the blue wire at the ballast to feed the ECU , the green wire is not used so you still only need the single ballast , the ECU will have the blue wire to the ballast + a 2 wire pigtail to the dist & a single black / yellow trace to the negative coil . nothing else is needed .

Thanks Again for the info Chyro
I see on other posts that you think highly of the Rev-in-ator ECU
I think it might be a nice upgrade to the Carquest unit know residing in my AAR.
Haven't checked the distributor yet but if it needs an upgrade any suggestions?
I am starting to get back into the car after a several year hiatus where it was occasionaly driven but not worked on.
Dash and instruments are this winters planned projects, along with cleaning up 40 some years of the patched in wiring mess.
Once again I appreciate the help,

Contact Bill Evans wiring, he  already makes an AAR harness with electronic conversion.

Mancini has a electronic conversion kit , They usually swap different ECUs with the kit , I have not checked but there is no reason they should not be selling the Rev-N-Ator , the dist is fully adjustable both mech & vacuum if you feel the current dist needs replacing , if not just get the harness & ECU
