has anyone done anything to make the whole instrament panel (gagues, radio, etc....) to look more modern? mabye even like the newer gen challys?

I did this...  installed some digitals...  still a "stock" type layout.  Kept the original stock dash in storage so I could change it back for any purists who might not like it (resale). 

I was never a fan of the Mopar dashes.  I think I did pretty good but not 100% happy with the look.  I did it to continue the white interior theme, and white top, and carry the blue inside a bit.

I have a focused image of the same shot at home, I was being "artsie" with this one in aperture mode on the Nikon.  Loved the winery setting.  If you wanna see the other shot let me know.

After much research and questions on this forum I made mine out of 18 gauge steel. Basically I copied the factory rally cluster. Something else to note is the fact that a one piece cluster needs to have the dash pad removed to install. My Speedhut 4" gauges will be here Thursday. Do a search for instrument cluster and gauge panel.

One thing to think about if you go to design your own bezel is that the original bezels had the gauges recessed to cut down on glare. Recessing the gauges is a lot harder, so almost no one does it, but I'm thinking that it will pay off if you plan to drive the car much.

Recessing the gauges is a little harder. I had a hard time seeing my rally gauges at night so that's why I didn't recess mine. No recess gets the gauges closer to me.

Also consider your final steering wheel choice.  Hard to see a speedometer with the wheel in the way.

I will start with I am a purist/gotta be stock guy, well most of the time, but I will say this... Cordodge, that dash looks bada$$. Both versions. Love it!!!. And this is from a guy that hates ricer carbon fiber stuff....lord forgive me and help save the pigmies down in south America.... lol

hey thx fishn4cuda, i hear ya i also like the factory stuff, it was a cheap decal kit so i thought i would try it and when i went to the red i wasn't sure how the wood grain would look but the carbon fiber looks nice with it i guess.  thx again bruce
