Almost done w/ Challenger and trying to get an input on value
« on: December 08, 2013 - 11:54:03 AM »
I'm just about done with a Challenger project, and wanted some input on a value.

Here's some of the details:

73 challenger B5 Blue

440 rebuilt with just over 500 miles (haven't dyno'd yet, but should be north of 450hp)
Was a 318 car
727 trans rebuilt with HD Bands and mild shift kit
Aluminum radiator
8 3/4 rear with 3.23 Sure grip rear
4 wheel disc brakes drilled and slotted
2 1/2 in exhaust new with large R/T exhaust tips
Trac pack springs
New BF Goodrich tires on all 5 wheels
Wheels are 15 inch steelies with red ring dog dish caps

Just painted a gorgeous B5 blue
New quarters, fenders, header panel,R/T hood, R/T rear valance w/ exhaust cutouts, and bumpers.
Doors and trunk lid were mint from a donar car.
New T/A spoiler
New Black vinyl top
Remote rally mirrors
New trim, marker lights, door handles, emblems, etc...

Frame is mint and added subframe connectors

Floors are trunk are mint.

New interior: headliner, dash, carpet, pistol grip auto shifter, door panels redone,
seats reupholstered, tach/water/temp/oil gauges mounted under dash in front of slap stick console.

New Front windshield and rest of glass is perfect.

I'm sure I'm missing some things, but just wanted to start getting some opinion on value from you folks.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

That's hilarious! Here's some photos. Just keep in mind that I still have some finishing work, like: bumpers, door handles, weather stripping, trim, emblems, detailing, etc..

Thanks for your  :2cents:. But seriously someone of your expertise  :working: with the Mopars you've done should have a decent idea on values. Your input would be appreciated.  :feedback: Thank you!

FYI: The photos show when on my desktop, but not on my ipad.  :clueless:

Just saw a '72 340 4 speed Rallye Challenger not sell at Mecum for $25k. Numbers matching, fully restored, nice looking car.

You've got an awesome looking car, but I would say that ~20k is the top of the market given its a not numbers matching, non-rallye '73.

I'm going to say 10-12k maybe as much as 14 if you wait for the right person to come along.

Curious, why are you looking for value? Is it for insurance? If so, look into agreed-value insurance that will replace the vehicle, not insurance on the price it can be sold for.
