New member - Upper midwest USA
« on: December 10, 2013 - 07:01:40 PM »
Hi all, I have been browsing the site for a while and figured it was time to put a post in here..

I am currently working on a 71 Cuda which I have had for about 20 years. I started working on it way back, but it sorta fell by the wayside over the years. Now that decent sheetmetal is being produced, I have gotten back after it and am making good progress. My goal is to have it painted by the end of next summer.
Its a 383 auto, GB2 color with black vinyl top, two fender tags and I found two build sheets in it. Complete, numbers matching car and I drove it home for $2200 back in 93'. It came with a NOS front valence, lower grille, wheel molding set, and exhaust tips in the trunk, so I think I did ok...  8)
Really been following Topcats build with interest, hoping mine will be as nice some day!

A 2010 Challenger R/T followed me home this spring. I figured life's too short to wait until retirement.....

WoW...Nice car for sure...love the colour combo, very rare!
I hope it gets restored back to 100% original...only thing I would consider changing is the column shifter is favor of a console shift....I have an original radio and cassette deck for you if yours is missing...
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Yes, plans are to be very close to stock. Added rear torque boxes already, and I have a set of frame connectors ready to go on in the near future, but that's about it for mods. I have been thinking about the console for a long time, but don't have any parts for the conversion yet. May be time to start looking, but I will save those stories for a resto thread...

I am missing the cassette deck.....     :worshippy

If you're going basically stock, why the frame connectors, torque boxes etc...? :dunno:

:iagree: I am in to column shift as something different myself, that is what is going in one of my cars in fact, actually leaving it that way.
And i too am a big fan of making the car stiffer through the body with stiffeners :2thumbs:
