Okay, I assembled last night using everyone's advice. I did not, however, use pins. I used the cork gaskets with Ultra Black and let the cork sit for about an hour to make sure they would not slip. The thickness of the cork was thinner than the bead of sealer I used the first time so I did not figure that the manifold would compress it. I then put another bead along the tops of both cork gaskets (and plenty in the four corners) to insure a seal. Torqued everything down and let it sit. I will finish the rest this morning and will let you all know if I screwed up again, hopefully not.
I do have another couple of questions but am not sure if I should post this in another forum or not.
1) is there a part number or some number for the proper throttle return spring? I bought an assortment pack at O'Reillys auto parts but even the best one in the pack seems to be a little "stiff" for the gas pedal.
2) Does anyone have a picture of the just how the kick down lever attaches to the throttle linkage? Does this linkage also have a return spring to keep it in the forward position?
Sorry, hate to be a pest with all these details but as I said before I'm dealing with PO's engineering and don't have any other references to go by.
Thanks again
