    I get the fact of trying to keep a relationship and being nice but do you really want to salvage a relationship with a guy like this. I don't mind spending time trying to stay away from people like this. I figure two things. 1. I have enough friends I don't need any more. and 2. If you mess with my kids or my car, your screwed dude!

    I'm not really saying be nice to him for niceness' sake, but rather because, if he's 90% done, it'll cost you a lot less if he can complete the work versus taking it to somebody else. If he was just starting on the car I'd say yank it and be done with him.

    A local shop here fell behind and parted out all of his customer's rides. Very unfortunate as some were real 6 PAC cars. I'd be checking on the situation quick.

    I agree with the "Get your car now approach".  This sounds like a guy you really don't need as a "friend".
