Ok crisis averted, I think.
A little choke and it fired right up...let it run for a bit, drained the rad put fresh prestone in the rad, let it run for a bit.
Got hot enough to open the thermostat, confirmed on the gage, by feel and visually saw the antifreeze moving in the rad.
The tester shows good to -35....should be good for the winter now. I will check it again tomorrow.
Just curious, before draining it I wonder what strength it's at now that it got slushy.
I checked it...less then -10.
I am an idiot.
Downside is pissed the wife off...having the car running in the garage that long, you can smell it in the house, not good.
Upside, I love working on my car.
