Welcome, Chevelle people!

I can assure you that Burpin is not a rabble-rouser/troll in any way, shape, or form. However, if he starts posting about 71 LS6 Chevelles that he found in the woods (or 72 Hemicudas), feel free to draw your own conclusions. (Just kidding, Burpin ;D).

OUCH that hurt deep in Burpins heart. Burpin knows this old man has a hemi cuda. He says its a 72 Burpin will probably find its a 70 or 71 or even a 72 with a non original hemi in it. Either way, When burpin gets it, who will have the last laugh

Muhahahhahahahahahahahahahahah

Here's hello from another Chevelle guy.  I can appreciate ANY old car, especially old muscle.

I'm glad a sense of reason and brotherhood has returned to this whole issue.  But be honest, if I had showed up on your great board here, insulted your choice of cars, presented myself in an odd way and THEN asked for help on a car I've just put down I don't suppose my reception would be much different than Steve received on the Team Chevelle site.  He then followed that up by posting back over here causing a bench clearing back over to our site and when folks saw that happening it caused some concern for our members.  If some were not recognizing Steve's "sense of humor" (I certainly didn't see it as such at the time) it might be because we didn't get to know him before he tossed a stink bomb in the locker room and then pulled the fire alarm by calling for reinforcements over here.  I guess all this goes to show the passion we all have for some 30-40 year old hunks of iron.

But enough of that, I read that you guys like pictures so if you don't mind some non-Mopar pics....

This is the 74 Duster as she sits now. The trunk and floors are in great condition with very little rust. The outer body will need some sheetmetal surgery. The interior is intact, but will need some work also.

This is how I envision the car when done:

My wife's brother owns the car, but he has no interest in it. Hopefully, if I get the job I'm after, I can get started on this car when my Chevelle is done.

Just when you thought it was all said and done, BUT your order is off. Burpin went in there and asked for help. Burpin got no help, Burpin was attact chewed up and then spit out. Even by the moderator. So Burpin rocked the boat a bit, in good humor Burpin might ad. Burpin obvously wasnt getting any help after a few days, so burpin showed his burnout video. Which is totally cool. Yet, they attacked that as well and then defended their actions. So be it said, Burpin has made many great friends over their and many of them have emailed burpin and has helped greatly, burpin is sure you are one of those friends as well. Glad to meet ya, Burpin is Burpin.

The L79 is kind of rare, in '65 they made 6021 L79 Chevelles.

Steve,
Perhaps I got things out of order.  But this still holds true: treat people like you want to be treated.  Some posts take a day or two to get an answer (and it helps to post in the correct forum), and your different "style" tended to cause few people to not take you seriously.  Then calling for CC guys to come over and add fuel to the fire didn't help.  It's all a matter of perspective.  You might want to post a few times in our Bench Racing area where we tend to get silly and off-topic most of the time so folks can get to know you.  We do have fun at TC so please come back and visit and let us know if we can help you in any way.

Any of you collect 1:18 diecast cars?  I'm a big fan with a collection of 160+ diecast of all makes.  A company called Hiway 61 makes a series of killer 70-72 Cudas and Challengers.  Here's my diecast site:   www.amhost.com/scooter

OMG thats alot of die casts!!  I only have about 20 though-out the house . . . I would think 160 die cast would take up quite a bit of room!!  I haven't bought any in a while and I'm sure there are some that I need to add to my collection.    Thanks for the info!!

Well Burpin . . . I must say, you certainly know how to make an entrance!!  The Muscle car guys at the Chevelle site most definitely know you now!!  lol

Check out here for 1:18 versions of your cars.  The Highway 61 brand is the best of the bunch.

Never any 72-74 Challengers - dog gone it overlooked again!!

They had a 72 Miami Dolphins die cast - but it wasn't a Challenger ( wrong front end )

On a side note, my wife did find a T-shirt at the Cracker Barrel with a 73 Challenger on it

Well spoken, Burpin has no hard feelings. And Burpin knows in time they wont either. And nice collection, Burpin wants a collection like that one day. There is a guy here that is serious about those things, he even has models or garages and things. Now where is that thread. Does anyone remember what Burpin is talking about.

72-74 challenger is always over looked and shrugged off like it wasnt a well known car.
Rarely ever see die cast or shirts with one on it. :banghead:

Saw a shirt with a couple on it at the last Cruise Nite, here.  Would have bought it, if I wasn't broke at the time....

I'm pretty sure Hwy 61 has plans for 72 Cudas and Challengers.  The series just started last year so keep checking in at www.diecastmuscle.com.  If you are into diecast, another great site with a great discussion board is http://207.58.161.80/forums2/, then go to the 1:18 board.  LOTS of Mopar guys there, you won't feel out of place.
