2 year member from pa but first post
« on: December 19, 2013 - 11:35:09 PM »
Hello. After reading posts for 2 years I thought  its about time I introduce myself. My name is Tom, I'm 59 years old. My dad was mopar guy so that's where I got hooked. My first car was 66 valiant. Then I moved up to a 70 dart 318  3 speed then the one I wish I still had a 70 roadrunner 383 4 speed. I got married in 1978 and bought a one bedroom house in 1980 with a baby one the way. Needing money to add on 2 bedrooms the only thing I owned worth anything was the roadrunner. After that I was to busy to think about muscle cars but in 1981 I bought a 340 engine and put it in the corner of my garage thinking someday. Fast forward 31 years and in 2011 the plant I worked at closed but I had enough time and was able to retire. I bought a 73 cuda in June of 2011. It will be the future home of the 340. It has a 360 in it now. I got it on the road this year and put 1900 miles on it going to as many cruises as I could. It's by no means done. I look forward to meeting some of you and feel like I already know some of you after reading your posts for 2 years. I hope I didn't bore to much with my life story. I'll get some car pictures posted as soon as my daughter shows me how.

I'm about 5 miles west of Beaver Falls pa. A little town called Darlington.  I've been to Carlisle the last 3 years. I usually get there Friday morning spend the day and head home that night. Thanks for all the greetings from everyone.

Thank you for posting and sharing your story.   :clapping:  Come hang out with everyone at the Carlisle tent this year.  The more the merrier.   :woohoo:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Hi Tom and welcome to the site.  Great story.
Like you I was almost in that position when the kids came along and i needed more cash flow.
Fortunately, I was able to keep my cuda, but many times i was tempted to sell it to survive.

What color is your '73?  Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Merry Christmas to all. Thanks for all the great replies. I tried to post some pics form my I-pad but it didn't work. I think they were to big. My cuda is lemon twist yellow. My daughter  was able shrink 1 pic and we posted it in the test area. As soon as I can I'll get more posted. Like all of you I love looking at everyone's pictures.
