« on: December 25, 2013 - 10:50:17 AM »
i have read some of the other topics on tko 5 speeds and people mentioning passion 5 speeds. I feel like this could be a great product and worth getting if the claims on the site flyer are true

question/ or speculation:

how much do you guys think it will cost?

when is it going to come out?

Yep, I am on that list.........

$4500, is high, but not that bad when you take into account everything Jamie had to go through to get this out.

$4500 ? Is that transmission only ? No shifter, ? no rods, ? no bell housing,? crossmember, etc..?

How does that compare to the TKO "full kits" available ? What's the average cost of a complete kit ?

Jaime was saying he would respline 23-spline clutches for people.  Has that changed?

What's the cost of a TKO kit ? This could be a deciding factor for my customer...

I paid 4K+ for mine and that was with hydro clutch trans ,bell ,drive shaft ECT. A complete kit, I had to buy nothing additionall to install.
Having said that IF the Passion has no problems I would go with it.
I may change mine out for a Passion next year.
I'm waiting to see if there are any issues.

Mine has been installed for a couple of months now in my Challenger. Smooth, drives like a dream and shifts oh so fast like a modern high performance car. Best thing was it installs just like you are putting a stock 4 speed in. So easy it should be "illegal". Weather prevented me from driving much before putting away for the winter though. Yes it comes with the shifter and rods and the revised speedo cable. If you are 4 speed already then all you need is the 18 spline disc and TO bearing assembly. Also takes 4 litters, quarts, of synthetic 75W-90 oil which costs around $50.

Now I'm thinking about a Passon 5-speed since my '73 is still all apart, gutted, and not completed yet.  Think it would be more fun than the automatic behind the hemi.  Some day this thing will run and get on the road.  Any opinions on a hydraulic clutch setup!

I really like the hydraulic setup.  If you are going from auto to a standard you don't have to buy all the linkage.  And of course you have a little more room to get to a starter and headers.  I like because it my wife can drive the car.
