Canadian 73 Cuda Restoration; Project Sassy.

Got the steering column restored.  Thanks to topcat and anlauto.  Will have pics of the restored dash in a couple weeks.  The finish on the steering column main parts and dash is ppg black suede from instrument specialties.

Well they each are keyed to go on only one way so I think they're ok?

I was thinking that same thing. In that picture, with the steering wheel in that position, where is the main spline on the coupler for the steering box ?

I turned and locked the steering wheel the way it should be and it looks to me the main spline on the coupler is at the bottom.

I can't tell where the main spline of the coupler is in your photo. HOWEVER.....with the steering wheel in the correct position, the main spline of the coupler needs to be on the top.

my car was put back together by a moron, is there a way to quickly fix this? the alignment of my wheel has been off  since I bought the car? Can you just pull the crush can easily?

Sounds like the steering box coupler was installed 180 degrees out?

If I undid the coupler, and just rotated it till the wheel was straight, would that not affect how many turns from lock to lock?

Sorry I misunderstood you. I thought you meant the steering wheel was 180 degrees out. Either the tie rods are not adjusted correctly ( to center the steering wheel)  or the pitman arm is not installed right if it has no master spline ( like the fast ratio firm feel arm)
