Finished my stainless trim polishing today.  Wow, that was a big job.  Thanks to Cody for his how-to video, helped me a lot.

Where there was deep scratches or dents (had two), used file, then 80, 120, 220 grits.  All the rest of the trim got started at 220, 320, 400, wet 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000.  Went up to 2000 because I felt it made things easier at the wheel.  Bought this kit from Eastwood, it worked perfectly.

Getting ready to epoxy my dash and steering column pieces, they are all blasted and ready to roll.  Got the ppg black suede dash paint ready to go.

Go light on the primer so as to not create to much texture.
Remove the grab handle and spray separately on your ash tray. 

Ground contacts need to be bare metal. Like any dash mounting screw areas.

Thanks for the advice, have read about the grounding issues - will be careful to sand those areas.  Still have to prep the parts for paint.

Not all those parts in that picture are the same shade of black. , some are not black at all.

oh any chance you can tell which are and are not? On threads like these I save the pics with notes usually for my future resto's.

The three odd shaped brackets for the steering column should be gloss black, the tube for the steering column should be flat black, not textured, steering shaft should be silver, although I've seen some painted black
