I'll be following your engine build.  I just recently up another 440 block and am going with pretty much the same parts as you. Only major difference will be that i have stealth heads and an 850cfm qf carb with a choke.

Started the initial mockup and checking clearances...











All good so far.  Tomorrow, start mocking up rods and Pistons.

Mockup process continues ... Pistons and rods in and checked for clearance.

Have to shave some material off the oil pickup tube area:


Side to side rod clearance is .020 across all four journals.

Pickup tube mods are done - had to take about 1/2 inch out of the height to fit.  Windage tray fitted and hemi pan, all fits good now.

I'm running stealth heads and an 850 holley  I'll let you know how it works if I ever get it fired up!

Things are coming along.  Another round of parts ordered - distributor, mopar performance valve covers, prw rocker assembly, a whack of ARP fasteners, timing chain, etc ...

Got the cam in and timing chain.  Degreed the cam and it checks out as it should according to the cam card.  Now waiting for prw assembly to determine push rod length and get them ordered.  Then I'll be able to do the final step in pre-assembly - valve to piston clearance.  Then I can tear this thing down for cleaning, paint and final assembly.
