A833 gear inspection

I have my A-833 tore apart due to grinding when going into 3rd & 4th gear. What do I look for as far as wear on the gears to determine if they need replaced?  Also the hubs on the syncros feel pretty rough. Could this have something to do with my grinding when shifting into 3rd & 4th gear?

the smaller teeth the syncro hub slides onto need to be square & not chipped , the inner teeth inside the syncro slider need to be the same , grinding is generally a problem with the dogs or the rings being worn & not engaging the cone on the gear to slow it down , this can also be caused by worn shaft brgs allowing the shaft to move in & out of the case or wrong oil used being too slippery , you need GL4 not GL5

Thanks Neil. The syncro blockers still look like new. The hubs look pretty shaky and are pretty rough but the shop that tore it apart and inspected it said all of the speed gears need replaced but I didn't see anything wrong with the gears. I can't remember what I used for oil, maybe Mobil 1 synthetic or regular 90 weight?

I would not trust someones opinion that all the gears are worn , with a the trans I have built I have virtually never seen that .
 If you had GL5 synthetic gear oil the brass syncro rings will not grab the gears & they will grind as they are shifted

I'm in Grand Island, Moparman. 

Neil,
I will take another look but I think my gears are mainly fine.  I may replace the hubs & the blockers and get a rebuild kit that has the new bearings, seals and gaskets and give it a try with some GL4 fluid this time.  thanks for the help!
