    also, looking to transport it home.

    What dimension car trailer would I need?  :clueless:

    I can look at the specs, but has anyone moved one on their trailer and could they confirm the total footprint of the car with any practical considerations i should know about so I can confirm ours is the right size.

    It's not running, so I need to ensure it can be loaded easily - won't be so easy to push up onto the trailer!!!

    Thinking of just getting a specialist mover to get it to me as it's 900miles away. Will use a fair bit of fuel even if I get it on a trailer with a LandCruiser. Guy quoted me $1,100. Youch!

     when I got my Riviera from Kansas City to Long Beach CA it was US $800. Can't remember the distance but Australia is bloody expensive for most stuff anyway (especially fuel!)

    An E-body will fit on an open 16 foot trailer and a 22 foot enclosed trailer.
    That shipping quote is actually pretty low at just over a dollar a mile.

    $1100 is cheap compared to the $30K of work the car needs.

    really happy for you! I think you'll be happier going this route in the long run and the ship cost really isn't bad for a pro shipper. you'll know soon enough if it will be $29 or $39 ...... :)

    here's hopin' ! as mentioned, i like the idea of knowing what's been done. just hope its long time off the road doesn't present too many hurdles, but I'll be doing my best to fit it out with the right parts as required....

    it'll be nerve-wracking going over the whole car up on the hoist

    booked the carrier over the weekend. seems a nice bloke I organised it thru, so all should go well i hope. wondered about removing the chin spoiler, just in case.

    don't wanna bust it !

    Just a side note. When I bought my Riviera, the seller took a pic as it was loaded onto the truck at night in Kansas City.

    I posted on the RivOwners forum and then a few days later another member took a pic of it whilst it was passing thru Oklahoma.

    He was driving along and noticed the colour and took a pic!!!
