I have a carpet cover for sale in the for sale area . . . Looked ok and either use for protection for a nice dash against heat or to cover a worn dash . . .  :2thumbs:

Get it repaired, or try it yourself.  There are a a lot of videos of this on the old innerweb.  Check out - www.fibrenew.com as one example.  Won't be perfect, but a lot better than a dash cover IMO

Ordered this

http://dashdesigns.com/dash-covers

I got the Dash-Tex material it looks a little better than the carpet. Don't have a cracked anymore, but since I live in the Desert Southwest  with summer temps over 110' I didn't want another cracked dash.

Yaaaaah, that'd be much appreciated --- looks like just the ticket for avoiding ultra violet damage to my front dash (it'd be cool if they also made something for the ,package tray" (Rear dash) as well!)

Sorry for the late posting of photos missed your request......I just let it rest on the dash and remove it when you show it. I like using it for extra sun protection.

You realize that plastic dash covers are only about $125 and will look far better than the dash/carpet types.

Bought new in '71; I wanted the Challenger but they were $2850; too much $ so I got the 318, 3 speed on the floor, Twister Duster for $2100.

I did do the plastic glue on cover, but since I live in the Desert Southwest  with summer temps over 110' I didn't want another cracked dash. So I just use the dash cover to provide some extra UV sun protection. I just remove it at shows, easy enough.

Ok, then for a temporary cover I guess it doesn't matter.  I will do something similar to protect mine; probably one of those reflective things that you put over the dash when you aren't driving it; they reflect all the light and heat.

Mine is called "Dash Cap (TM)" and is made in Utah by Accu-Form Plastics; it has the recess for "Barracuda" on the pass side. I got it off ebay.

That is the one I used also, just buy a tube of black silicone and fill all the cracks with body filler here is good article on how to do it.

Fill cracks? Hell, half of mine was completely gone; the plastic cover does not need any support; in fact that is why they say to only glue it around the edges.  I put mine on over all the cracks and missing pieces with no issues.
