Front Spindle Casting Numbers
« on: January 06, 2014 - 02:45:39 PM »
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have the front end apart on my 71 Cuda with drum brake spindles. I have lost track of witch one is left and right. They look very close to the same. Any help?

Easy way to tell is the caliper is fronted towards the front of the car.

Not too many calipers on a drum brake car...

I'm 100% certain they are the same left-to-right...

I thought they were the same also when I removed them. After some bead blasting I'm seeing 2 different casting numbers.

Could be casting dates. :dunno: The 70-71 parts manual confirms the same part number for both sides. :2cents:

If the parts manual says they are the same that works for me. I know they look the same. Definitely not dates codes though. They are are long casting numbers.
Thank you very much for looking this up for me!

A body drum spindles are same side to side if that helps.
