I just thought i'd say hi. i'm a 20 year old, male in Spokane, WA. Cars are my passion (I like cars more than I like most women), This Barracuda is my first muscle car I've ever had and I love it, but it wont be the last. My dream car is a '71 'cuda 440, 6-pack, 4-spd, with black and red paint. I hope to purchase one after I get to know how to build cars really well. I'm not fond of "Factory" settings there is always room for improvements.
I have a '67 Barracuda fastback. It came stock with the 273 (I believe it was a "Comando" it had the adjustable Hydrolic rockers) and an automatic 904 3 speed trans. 7.25" rear. I have replaced the 273 with a 318 with a Weilanld "Stealth" dual plane intake manifold, Hooker competition headers with a set of "Purple Hornies" 2 1/2" glass packs bolted to the headers and toped off with an Edelbrock Performer 600.
I know the 318 isn't a stock engine it was rebuilt before I bought it as a short block assembly. I don't know any of the internals specs (The guy I bought it from didn't know either, other than it was rebuilt with Performance in mind). Can't wait to get it on the dyno to see how much power i'm making at the wheels.
I am planning on changing the trans to aTCI built 727, and a 8 3/4" rear with 3.55 gears ( not sure yet on gear ratio). I also want to have the heads ported and polished with larger valves, titanium retainers/guides, and stronger valve springs. replace the edelbrock carb with a Demon "Speed demon" 650 unit, Hooker Super Competition Headers, with a 2 1/2" t-304 stainless steel exhaust system with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
I bought the car with the Formula S hood and the factory 150 MPH speedo already on the car, I'm going to paint it a Saphire Metallic Blue with two Black Cherry racing stripes going down the center with a hood Louvre in the center of each stripe. I will probably replace all my gauges with Auto-Meter gauges.
When she's done she'll be one bad fish for sure.
