Under seat adjuster springs: who makes them?
« on: January 08, 2014 - 12:41:06 AM »
I'm getting close to re doing my front seats.

Who has the springs that go under the front seats so you can adjust them?

There is a company that makes a repop slider assembly. Might be PG classics? (memory is 1st to go) Anyway I saw them on ebay I think. Called the company and they would sell the springs but I didn't buy them. They wanted way too much $. I haven't done any more looking.

Thanks for the tip.

I don't need the whole assembly. Just the adjuster cable/spring.

I may be able to salvage my old ones. But they're 40 year old steel cables.
Would be great if there's an alternative way to fab these.

Any ideas?

Hey Mike, i was not sure what you were talking about at first. But now i think i do, if you are talking about the parts that join the outer seat runner to the inner seat runner slides, take the parts you have down to any local spring works, a place that makes springs, and they should be able to match up exactly to your samples. This would be something common to what they would do, as all those parts are made of spring steel buddy.

I need them for my Dart too.  I think PG Classics sells them.

Hi Mike. Hey try your local OSH, they have assorted springs that you may be able to easily fab up if you come up blank.

O.K. Thanks gang.

I just received back my seat frames torn down ready for the sand blasters.
Man do they stink.  :eek4:

Like mold and rat piss soup.
$50.00 bucks spent gladly to prepare for send out.

I'll try to take some pics of stuff I need after and look at your ideas.

You know you have been working on your car to long when you find parts you didn't know you had. Thought I needed them too put just found them as I get ready to do my seats. I got them from PG classic 506 473 5855 item number 1840-cable Seat track cable 13 " and they are $19.95 each.

I ordered the adjuster springs from Classic Industries last week.

I still need to find these.

I suppose I can make them if I had specs on length or any other info.

My Dart just uses a J hook made out of round stock.  It screws into the seat frame.  You could probably find something like that at a hardware store.
