My FE5 red with black top and interior T/A was sold at Mr. Norms. Interestingly, a couple years ago I was at a local car show and a unrestored red and black top T/A pulled in I hadn't eyeballed before, and when I went over to check it out, I found it was my car's twin 2 VIN's past mine and also a Mr Norms sold car! I contacted Barry and he said my car was the first of 4 identical consecutively VIN'd T/A's that Mr Norms ordering guy had ordered for the dealership. The car after that one is supposed to be alive and well in Atlanta. So at least 3 of those 4 T/A's still exist!
Someone was telling me once that Mr Norm said he sold 400 T/A's. I find that number to be hard to believe, that would mean 1 of every 6 T/As went through that single dealership?? I know he was involved in a lot of dealer trades and such. A buddy of mine had an FY1 T/A that had been sold at a dealership in Iowa but he found it went to Mr Norms first. Also, Mr Norms advertised heavily on WLS radio, a powerhouse top 40 radio station of the time, and people traveled from far away to Chicago to buy hipo Dodges from Mr Norm. I think it was Richard Eherenberg from Mopar Action who told a story of traveling with a friend from NY to purchase a T/A from Mr Norms back then as an example.
An interesting contrast though was with the 69 Daytonas. As I recall, Mr Norms only sold one of those.
