Everything looks great. I pulled the trigger the other day and ordered the E-Street from Summit. Edelbrock is running a promotion until the end of the month where they will give you an intake manifold with the E-Street. I didn't need the intake so I sold it to a friend. Did you hook the tach wire to the negative side of the coil? Did it effect did it affect the operation of the dash tach?

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Did you get the kit that came with the sump like Jeff got? Easy install with the sump. I was thinking of adding the sump to my vehicles.

Ok I got the challenger out today and got to take it for the 1st ride with the EFI installed. It ran better than I thought it would and fired right up after my initial set up 3 days ago. I tried to follow the manual closely with light load, heavy load, high rpm and low rpm. I could not resist a wide open throttle on my way home and can say it pulled very hard and you can really hear the sound just like opening up a 4 barrel thermoquad carburetor. And yes the tach wire is hooked to the negative side of my coil and my dash tach still reads the same as before about 250 rpm to high and I have had no issues with it. I still need to call Edelbrock as when I store my cars I have quick disconnects on the negative side of the battery. It says once setup power loss will not erase any stored data in the ECU and I want to hear it straight from them.

All of my EFI systems only need to stay hooked to the battery for about 15 seconds after the key is turned off. This is to close the Idle air control motor, then pull it open to the park position for the next start up. It also stores any new learned info back to the proms.
I then get out of my cars, pop the hood, then disconnect my ground battery post at the quick-disconnect everytime I park in the garage. My Edelbrock I installed in 2006 was the same way.

Yes Shelby I ordered the same kit. I like the fuel sump setup. I'm not concerned with stock looking under the hood and the sump looked like a nice simple way to go. Plus I like the wireless tablet. Edelbrock said you can use the sump with any EFI setup if you are using a different EFI.

   Rob you are right it can be disconnected without loosing any information it already has stored in the ECU. I did ask about the power source and Edelbrock wants a keyed power source. They don't like the ballast resistor or the alternator for a power so I have ran a wire through the firewall and will hook into the fuse block that has the accessory plug which has power when the key is on. Edelbrock told me to go out and put at least 20 miles of drive time on the system to learn my habits. Hope to do so Saturday.

   Edelbrock wants a keyed power source. They don't like the ballast resistor or the alternator for a power
This is why I told you to use another relay to get clean power to the Edelbrock ECU. You are only using the ballast resistor or alternator wire to close your relay. If you hooked to a power source that gets power when "key on", you hooked to the same wire as the alternator and ballast resistor anyway (blue wire). If you hooked to the black wire, then that is the accessory wire and that will be hot when you want to listen to the radio, which you don't want power to when on ACC.

  The width is 4 1/4" X 6" with the 4 mounting holes. This is how big my control box is and not any real good places to mount it. I had to make a bracket for it and my fuel sump.

Thanks Rt, it looks like I will have enough room to mount it to the firewall just to the left of the ignition control box just above the blower motor. I'll need to do the same as you for the sump, hopefully I can get it up to the radiator support. The plate that connects the fender to the radiator support looks smaller on a Barracuda than on a Challenger so I might have more room.

My Challenger is a AC car so I couldn't mount my ECU above the blower motor. Here are pictures of my sump bracket and ECU bracket.

Mine was an AC car but I never put the AC back on when I built it so that's why I have room on the firewall. After looking at your closeup shots it looks like I might have to mount the sump the same way. Thanks for the help and I'll post pics of the install when I get the system.
