When you look at the youtube video with the install on the Stingray, if you look closely, they mounted the sump on a pretty big angle against the inner fender. I'm not so sure that was a good idea. Not having the sump fairly level has got to screw up the float for the fuel level.

I did not like the angle on mine at all that is why I made the bracket to keep it more straight up and down. Edelbrock said it would not be a problem but I was not going to take a chance.

Don't forget if you need the Chrysler throttle cable bracket it is part number 1481. I got mine from summit as they were the cheapest but bought off ebay.

Thanks RT, I'm pretty sure I have a bracket on one of the carbs I have around here. I got a note from Summit saying the E-Street are on back order and the won't expect it in until the 26th. So I'm working on welding in the 02 sensor bung.

Here you go Jeff.

use my diagram to get your key-on circuit to stay on during start and run.

Get a 1 to 5 amp rectifier diode from Radio Shack for the inline one. A smaller one such as a 1n4001 can be used in between the relay legs.  Arrow points towards the stripe!



If you don't use a diode and hook the brown and blue together, you are bypassing the ballast resistor and the ign coil will overheat.

  I have not drove it enough to check and mpg change but it will be better. The throttle response was the first then I noticed that was better. When you hit the gas it is right there and pulls hard. They do claim a hp increase and with the intake change I'm sure there is. One of the installs on youtube with only the EFI installed they did a before and after dyno test showed 25 hp increase. I hope for a few more mpg and you can custom tune out on the road through the tablet for maximum mileage.

Jeff,
I just posted this in the Edelbrock Forums after seeing your EFI setup. Also, go there to read about a guy's sump dumping a gallon of fuel out of his sump vent due to a stuck float. I e-mailed Clay and told him to put a hold on his order.

So a fellow car guy bought the e-street and sump package and has been calling and needed a few questions answered about his and that. He knows I have used Megasquirt, had an Edelbrock Pro-Flo-1 and now 2 Fast EZ-EFI cars and will EFI anything.

Met him at a car show yesterday and finally got to see his E-street EFI install.
Nice beautiful, sunny day for a car show.
He was trying to show me the dashboard on the tablet. Couldn't see it without wrapping your hands around it like a periscope. Too much glare, too bright outside, side reflections etc.
My Pro-Flo screens and FAST EZ-EFI LCD handheld screens are easily programmed and seen while cruising, on sunny days to make changes on the fly.
I asked a fellow car guy, ready to pull the trigger on the e-street system this week to hold off on the purchase. He is building a Power Tour car and is asking me for suggestions on EFI.  I'm 54 and he is at least 65 so his sight is ? to mine.

A younger guy can probably see this in bright sunlight but what will Edelbrock do for us, the older guys that can afford to buy their $2.5K+ systems? Make us tune after the sun goes down?

How about a Bluetooth mini LCD programmer for on-the-road changes.
Even my Garmin knows how to display in both sunlight and darkness.

Rob that is not good dumping that much gas from a stuck float. On the tablet keep in mind while driving you are in the car not out in the sun and I can see the tablet fine. It would be nice if they had a setting for both dark and light.

I have tablets and laptops. When trying to see them while tuning and driving on a bright sunny day, I'm screwed.
You should have looked at my EZ-EFI programmer. I can see it in ANY light conditions including bright sunlight.

As far as the Edelbrock sump goes, I don't see why they used floats and an open vent. Just to be able to hook to mechanical pumps? Open vents on top of a Holley carb at least dumped the fuel into the intake and not all over the engine compartment.

I got the antiglare screen protector out and will get it put on this week and see how much difference it makes as it looks like that will help out on bright sunny days.

I'm in the car with my laptop, a bright sunny day outside and typing this without any glare issues. I'll have to try my tablet to see it's visibility next. It looks like we shouldn't have any problems seeing this inside the car.

Now, on to the possible stuck float/fuel dumping out of the vent issue?

Jeff,
The guys are telling me on Edelbrock's instructions say to connect the vent line to the charcoal canister or the filler tube to create a return line. You not connecting the vent can cause a fire.  I didn't read the directions because I don't have the sump. I always run a return line anyway.
