Did cars with vinyl tops have lead in the joint between the roof and quarter panel?

Yes all cars did...Vinyl top cars MAY not have been finished as well in that area as non-vinyl top cars though :2cents:

My early 71' (Dec 70') vinyl top car did not have lead at the seal panels or A pillars.
It had a very strange type of body filler.

All the ebodies I've seen had lead.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

All the ebodies I've seen had lead.

Then my car was an exception.
It was the original top.

I agree with Mike, not all got lead.  My car is an original vinyl  top car......see pictures, no lead.

As mike said it had a type different of body filler.

I have a 72 with a sunroof and when I got it it the vinyl top had been removed and there isn't any lead. All sunroof cars came with vinyl tops and there are remnants of vinyl so I know it had one.

Every E-body i have looked at has had lead in the join too :dunno: I know one thing, i will not put lead back in that join at anytime. It is a crap way to fill a deep seam.
