My UR dash pad Installation....
« on: January 13, 2014 - 05:59:56 PM »
I know some people complain about their Ultimate Ride dash pads....Here is the latest one I just installed today.

In my opinion, it fits pretty darn good :worshippy I didn't spend any extra time "tweaking" it at all...

That looks pretty good.  I really think it's the AC vents (and maybe the speaker cutouts) that make it difficult to re-manufacture.

True enough, and that's where the "trimming" has to be done to get the vents and speaker cover on there.

I love mine even if the stitching on my 70 Challenger pad wasn't exactly in a straight line. I bought mine maybe 8 years back, so I'm sure they have it down by now.

Glad it worked for you, my AC pad is very poor IMO.
The vinyl is already bubbled around the extremely poor fitting vent cut outs.

Need to send Roseville another email, never replied to my first.

I got mine through Dave @ Roseville. Fit like a glove and no tweaking  Only thing I did wrong was fail to take the Challenger badge off the core before returning it.  :stomp:

73EStroker; you should have received a nice new chrome Challenger script w/the UR dash. I bought my UR dash direct from UR & the Challenger script came with it.

Nice job Allan, and thanks for posting your pictures.  They helped me in convincing my wife to spend the $$$ and get a new dash pad.  As with the crappy interior Palco panels that the previous owner chose to install, the dash pad (although nice looking from 50') is also crap.  It is one of those made with a plastic core, and there are extreme fitment issues (see photos).  Since I am redoing my entire interior, and have the dash almost fully assembled (out of the car), I just won't be satisfied with putting it back in the car with this dash pad.  So (once again), it looks like I'll have to shell out some more $$$ for satisfaction and peace-of-mind.  I have searched this site and read many post about dash pads.  Regarding the various manufactures who sell "steel core" dash pads: I know some (if not many) have had issues with UR pads, but what about the others?  There is Dash Pad Pros, Just Dashes, Carolina Super Dash (aka:Superior Dash), etc.  I want to buy the best fitting, most correct pad, at the fairest price.  I feel that JD pricing is extreme.  Can't seem to get much info on Carolina, but have found a phone number, and those that have bought/installed them seem to be satisfied.  Is Carolina associated in some way with UR?  Don't know much about Dash Pad Pros, but I know others have made posts inquiring about them.  I will need a 3-speaker, non-AC, '70 dash pad.  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks guys.

Filmsurgeon If you need a blank dash frame and are near LAX ping me, I have one stripped to bear Metal if you can use it for a core. I was going to when I ordered mine from Roseville but shipping pretty much made it a wash. I haven't installed mine but it looks good from the exterior, but the interior cuts and wrapping didn't make my inner perfectionist feel great (but it cost 400 less). It looks like they eyeball the cuts with a lot of of overlap, when I would have thought it would have been a precut pattern. Also if you call JD they may offer you a cash discount and you can you drop it off to save a bit more... I think your SoCal correct?
