My neighbour across the way has an '04 Mustang Cobra (289 with supercharger) but he REALLY likes the Chally.
Thursday night I took it out of the garage after sitting all Summer. Altho it started fine, it just doesn't wanna run properly. I would floor it off the line, and it would just stall. When I got it home, I adjusted the fuel mixture screw, and reset the idle, thinking that there was too much air, not enuff fuel. It stopped stalling, but now it has wicked bog and instead of stalling, if I floor it from a stop, it will bog, then speed up, but there is a lot of hesitation and it just won't 'chirp'. This afternoon I changed the air and fuel filters, and added a carb cleaner fluid to the gas but haven't taken it out yet for a test run. (the wife is 3 days past her due date with our first child, so leaving her home alone while I go 'play' has been frowned upon lately)
I still have yet to swap to the new MP intake, but need the time...and the self confidence that I can swap the carb from the old to the new one. I'm a l'il concerned that I won't be able to re-attach all of the linkages properly. Anyhoo, I'll get to it eventually, but for now YAY!! Chally weather is back for another 6 months!!!
oh, and despite the tuning problems, the neighbour had a GREAT time. Not only did it remind him of his old muscle car days, but a detuned 440 Chally is still better than a new Rustang.
