New Member--Kinda
« on: January 15, 2014 - 08:48:10 PM »
I was a member here several years ago but life got in the way for a while. Bill here, from North Central, West Virginia. I have a '70 Challenger R/T, Plum Crazy, Black Vinyl Top, 440 Six-Pack, Dana 3:54, Pistol grip 4-speed, black interior, Shaker hood. Restored it several years ago and did all the work myself including paint. I used to be into Street Rodding years ago and built a '34 Ford 5-Window Coupe then built a '37 Chevy 2-door sedan. Those two cars took a ton of time but they have moved on to other owners. I really enjoy the Challenger and since I live in an area that is full of Chevy/Ford owners the Challenger really stands out among all the Chevelle and Mustangs. The Challenger was purchased as a basket case back in the 90's and the owner claimed he had owned it in the torn down condition for 12 years. The odometer read 18,000 and change when I got the car and when I tore down the engine for total rebuild all it needed was new bearings and a fresh cam. The cylinders only needed a slight hone and some new piston rings. The crank just needed polished and new bearings so I believe the mileage is true. I have the fender tag and the build sheet so I restored the car to its' numbers matching current condition. I believe the current 21,000 miles are original but really don't know how to go about documenting the cars mileage. Yes, I know the thread is worthless without pictures so I will have to try and figure out how to get some posted. I have some stuff (20 year collection) that I would like to offer the other members before I start posting stuff on eBay. If there is interest, I will post them in the proper "For Sale" thread. Let me know if there is any interest in '70 tail lights (complete), luggage rack(s), six-way seat adjuster. http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/Smileys/default/burnout.gif

Sorry, I misread the end of your post. Thought you were saying that you were looking for those things instead of selling them.
