Does CA charge back fees and penalties for NOT keeping the registration current? If you can't keep your car on the road and registered I thought you had to get an inoperative statement or permit or something to avoid getting slammed with the fees and penalties. 10+ years of fees and penalties would be a hefty chunk-o-change. I got slammed on a motorcycle once with this deal and I'm trying to remember where I was living when it happened. Maybe I remember it wrong and am thinking of a different state?
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. I would not worry about a salvage title at all on a 45 year old car. Like stated above, I would worry more about the repair work. Unless you done all the work yourself or know the pro that restored your car, then all of us with "restored" cars have that concern. I would do with this car whatever you like. As for getting your money back out of it, remember what you like and what the potential buyer likes may be two different things. By the way, car looks great. Enjoy, and good luck!

About $600 to bring the registration current (not counting sales tax on the vehicle purchase) There is a maximum penalty amount after 2 years in California, which was a very good thing for me in this case.

I drove her for the first time last weekend and blew a head gasket...More pics coming soon as I begin the tear down.  My plan it to build a aluminum head big block E-Max Challenger, so I've got some work ahead of me.
