Need A Dash Pad for the 71'
« on: January 18, 2014 - 09:15:35 PM »
I have had several conversations with the guy selling dash pads at Monster Mopar and the Indy swap meet. He wanted to buy the
several core dash pads I had because they are rust free cores. He never seems to call back after the show to arrange it. I think he was from
Superior Dash , but I have never got him to answer or call back. Anyway, now I need a pad for the 71 Challenger I am doing. It needs to be a AC pad with preferably 3 speaker. I am willing to trade several rust free cores for one good pad, but shipping would kill the deal. Does anyone know if anyone will be selling pads at the Indy show or how to contact someone that may be interested in this sort of trade? I can bring cores to swap out if someone is there. I understand rust free cores are going for $125-$150? I have 5 or so to move.
Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks, Keith

Hi Keith,
You could try talking to Dave at Roseville Moparts, as he has a very good success rate dealing with and using Ultimate Rides dash pads, he might do you a deal as i am sure everyone is after good cores to make the best dash pads from. :2thumbs:

The guy you were most likely talking to was Alan Foxx. His email is bourget01@hotmail.com
He buys E Body dash cores for $65 USD. He'll take as many as you got. If he's desperate and "needs" cores he might pay a little more, but I doubt it.

Dash core prices from most companies are around $195 if you don't have a core. Some people looking to save that $195 core charge might want to buy your cores for $125-$150 as you mentioned, but I highly doubt that too, most people still have their original cores.

Alan just emailed me a few weeks ago looking for 71+ B Body dash pad cores.

I e-mailed Alan and haven't got a response yet. Hopefully he will be at Indy and willing to trade for some nice cores. I don't see me going $1200 for a Just dashes pad. How much are the UR pads usually?
Thanks , Keith

UR's are about 1100. Unfortunately for you, about 6 months ago is when there was a huge price increase. Show specials
or group buys were about 6-700 bucks.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

$1100 is the price if you DON'T supply a core.

At a show if you see him selling the pad you need it will cost you about $300 PLUS your 5 cores in my opinion. :2cents:
