Old Hemi Challenger race car from Washington
« on: January 28, 2014 - 11:29:18 PM »
Hi all!
I'm new to the site and I own a real black 1970 Hemi Challenger factory N94 code car. It was ordered and raced out of a Seattle Dodge  dealer supposedly by a guy that worked there. The car was ordered bare bones, manual steering, manual brakes, 4 speed, no console, no stripes,  and radio delete.  It racked up 816 miles in its life.  I know of one owner back in Des Moines, Wa in 1979 BUT have not been able to  locate him or any history race or otherwise. Does anyone in the Northwest remember a 4 speed Hemi Challenger racecar?

wow that must be quite the car you got there.  hopefully someone here can track down the owner.  Member CODY is the first person who comes to mind for stuff like that.  Send him a message.  Hes from that area anyway, but also very interested in the history of these cars.  in the mean time, post some pics!

Ill try getting some pics up... need to trim them down. The car is in pieces and in the process of restoration. I have all the documents for the car proving what it is and that she only racked up 816 miles a 1/4 mile at a time!! It definitely has one of them CRAZY mopar story's you hear about and can't believe it's true but this is the real deal! It's 1 of 2 T/A hooded Hemi Challengers known to have been ordered! This is the black 4 speed car, the other is a red automatic. According to what I have researched about non T/A N94 cars is they all were built after 4/13/70 when the hood option became available on non T/A models. Mine was built 5/12/70 and to date it is the first N94 code car also! The red one was built exactly a month later. The crazy thing about mine from talking to people is that for years it has been rumored to be gone, raced and destroyed in the 70s/80s. I guess even Galen has no idea it exists still, he also believes it to be gone people have said.  I haven't came out much publicly with the car, I have talked to a couple N94 owners and tried searching for its previous life history but I'm not getting anywhere.  I'd LOVE to find pics or hear stories of it being raced in Super Stock back then. I think this Lost Hemi deserves it to be add to the crazy legacy of the car. So any help would be appreciated!

When you bought the car, what kind of condition was it in?
How did you find the car?
Does it have the fender tags and build sheet?
If not, what options have you verified so far?

I can't seem to slim the photos down enough to fit and make them look good. :clueless:
I have known about this car for years,  never knew it was so rare tho! Took a lot of work to get it but I got it and saved it from a bleek future. It's Buildsheet is pristine and I have decoded it, the ONLY extra cost options were....

E74- 426 Hemi
D21- 4 speed manual
A33- Track Pak axle package (3.54)
N94- Fresh Air Hood

You say your car is coded for N94, what hood is currently on the car  please ? I would love to see where it has N94 on the broadcast sheet if you could share that too please :clapping: :2thumbs:

Nope sorry, this N94 non-R/T v code Challenger was built Sept. 24th 1969, long before yours, heck long before the T/A program even started... http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=96173.0  :smilielol:

Geez! There seems to be a lot of questionable baggage about that car! The guy who sold him that car and told him it was what it was without proof to scam someone.... bring on the lawyers!  :villagers:

It would be cool to find out if they did in fact made a 440-6, my father said he thought Dick Landy had a silver one?
The only known ones are 2 hemis, 2 383s, and 1 340 car

You should use Photobucket or ImageShack to post pictures.  It is much easier and the photos do not get periodically deleted.

No I didn't get the hood with the car. When it was raced it had a one piece fiberglass front end. She was running fast back then! Good thing she never was dipped or tubbed! Message me with your email and I'll send you it, goes for anyone else I'll get it up on the page when I modify them.... smartphone is a pain! Lol
