    The guy that I would like to find and talk is a Gordon J. Whitis bought it Halloween 1979 in Washington.  No luck tracking him down so far. :dunno:

    Would be interesting to see pictures of the car from new, i hope you can track down the original owner, be good to work out where it was raced and if anyone has old photos from when it raced, cool car :2thumbs:

    I tried that Avenue too, I found 5 phone numbers and one night I called them all and what are the odds of each one of them answering but none of them was Gordon! Haha
    I found Olga on Facebook and wrote her and no response,  she looks to be an ex wife? With the Internet it's so easy to find people but I still have yet to talk to him!  :faint:

    Yes it would be great to see them pics, I would love to know if and what color schemes it had or a clever name etc. If anyone also has pics of race car challengers from the northwest 70s-80s I'd like to see them! :clapping:

    One feature my car had was at one point when it was campaigned it had a fiberglass trunk lid that was fastened by four hood pins on all corners.

    Do you have the rest of the parts for it to complete it?

    She has had a hard life as a race car and sat outside for a period of time.  Before that the car body was perfect no dents or rust, never wrecked.  It had been paint stripped and primed and ready for paint. It's obvious going to need to have that process redone. The original cluster I have and it has 816 ticks on it and I have the old title from said owner from 1979-1988 and actual mileage when sold is written 800. I got most of the powertrain with it. I am going to need a few Items like - bellhousing, intake manifold, Exhaust manifolds, rocker assemblies and carbs. Interior wise I just got the complete dash with the radio delete plate (which is huge!) Everything else for parts I have already in accumulated spare parts, this one between me and my father is Challenger #7

    I hope you start a restoration thread.

    Putting a Hemi together back to stock along with what is Hemi only parts to it's stock look is a major undertaking. The parts list is huge and seems never ending.

    Good luck and I would like to see your progress on it.

    Well thanks! This will be a task no doubt, its my first hemi. Im glad i have my dad to help, he use to restore mopars as a profession. He restored a few hemis, owns a 67 hemi gtx and use to own a 70 hemi cuda... so he is a huge asset! Im looking forward to a father- son project. The hemi only parts are sooo pricey these days!  :( Im a truck driver so it'll be a little by little kinda thing haha. I will look to start a thread I think it will be pretty interesting  :chatting: and would like to share with other true mopar guys!

    If your using windows here is a neat tool for resizing. Once installed just right click the image and the options will open. Just click resize images and your in and done.
