1974 Cuda Heater Wiring
« on: April 11, 2005 - 09:08:27 AM »
On my non a/c 1974 Cuda I have a harness with a 3 prong molded connector that pushes on to the Fan Speed switch.
Out of that same harness is a yellow wire with a bullet connector that pushes onto a yellow colored connector that has room for 2 other bullet connectors. Then again off the same harness is another molded connector with 2 wires, I do not know where this goes, and can not find any harness to accept it. It appears to only be long enough to go to about the middle of the dash.
Needless to say, the heater motor is not working, am I missing a piece of harness?

Thanks  OUTLAW ,
Very weird, in the diagram it looks like one harness that goes fro mthe blower switch to the heater motor resistor.
Mine is not like that , and it does not look modified.
The harness that comes off my blower switch gows to about the middle of the dash (to short to get to the resistor)
I will have another grunt upside down in there tonigt.
Thanks

Hi,
I have determined where I messed up.
I had 3 pod's of switches. I picked the "best" looking one and installed it.
The one I installed had a rear defog switch, that I plugged the molded three prong connector that should have gone to the blower motor.
So I got that all glanged up, and still had no blower motor.
So a few raps to the motor with the wooden end of the hammer, a few growls and grunts and away she went, I let it run for about 10 minutes and she works like a dream.
Now if I could only get the wiper motor to work, I have power etc according to the test light, just no action.
Thanks
