That turned out great April!

NZ, I'm so happy for you that you're finally getting most of your parts!  Did you ever get your trunk moldings?

Thanks REV, getting parts is probably the hardest part of this resto and is always a pain in the back for us International guys.  :-[

Trunk moldings yes.......did they fit? NO  :grinno: :gripe: I bought an original trunk piece only off eBay and that fit great and was in excellent condition, the 1/4 panel moldings were repos and were about 1/4-1/2" too long on the trunk sides.
There going to cut/weld and re anodize(?) them to fit, they assured me all would be 100% fine. But they are just amazed as am I that a lot, and I mean A LOT of the repo parts I am getting from YO, eBay and others are no where near to fitting.  :eekbig: :eeksmall: :o

Oh well my parts list is complete for now. My resto team even found a Chrome Oil pan locally. Brand new, 7 quart center sump.  :D

Cheers  REV  ;)

I wish I could have salvaged mine but there was too much rust for me to put it back in service. Most of the rust was in the vent tubes in the top of the thing. I bought a new tank and am putting in a new sender as well. Hope to be putting that baby in tonite actually

Wow, sounds like a lot of us had the gas tank and sending unit on our things to do list!  I forgot to mention, we got our new straps from Jack's and had to cut off about an inch and a half and bend them and redrill the holes.  Not a big deal, but a pain in the butt once you already have them installed.  Good luck with your tank tonight MT.

April,

I see in the pictures off your work ( which looks great ) the shocks look chrome. What kind are you running?  I have the Carrera adjustable which are chrome, but am looking to change.

Actually, my shocks are black, but I have been thinking about getting the QA1 shocks which are chrome (or look like chrome).  They did look that way in the pic though, I hadn't noticed that.

April, I was thinking about those QA1's also. Do you have a link to info/pictures of those at all?

I'd talk with either Rev-It-Up or Redline.  They have a set underneath their '70 R/T SE.  I'm sure they could fill you in on most of the information you'd be after.

We have the QA1 shocks but not driven with them yet.  But, they do look great and have a great reputation.  Here's a pic...

God I love those shocks Rev.  But every time I mention getting them I get a look or grunt from Joe because they cost so much.  I may have to break down and get the anyway!  Hopefully you will be able to tell me real soon how you like them!!!!!!!!! Once the Challenger is on the ROAD!!!!!!!!!   4 more days until engine start-up, you think you are going to meet the Saturday deadline Rev?
