Tired of Moparts?
« on: February 03, 2014 - 01:02:05 PM »
Hey Everyone,

Just have to vent about Moparts. I'm kind of a lurker on both moparts and Cuda Challenger but find myself checking moparts less and less now.

Am I the only one thats doing this?

The endless off topic threads, thread derailers and people that only care about their post count are going to slowly kill that site out. There use to be so much good information and now everyone seems to be leaving in droves to other forums.

We shall see what happens but just wanted to see what other people thought or if I am the only one thinking this

Thanks,

Dave

Nope, I am there ever more.  With a large group, good people and tons of topics for all walks of life.  I enjoy it.  If you don't like the thread, don't click it.

I agree 110% with you. I'll go there once and awhile to check for PM's and I use the site for advertising, but I'll never post there again....

Too many idiots, too much negativity, and far too much nonsense... :horse:

I went on there a few times and decided that wasn't for me. If I had a question, one of 2 things occurred. Either I would get the holier than thou response suggesting that I was a knothead and should know more about my own car, or it ended up 3 pages back with zero responses. Lot's of folks love it over there - to each his own I suppose. So, that said, I just made this place my car home on the web.....

I go there monthly to check the E-Body for sale section and a couple of threads on some amazing Mopar resurrection builds that I had been following.

Not a very conducive site to actually get anything done besides watch bellyaching and name calling.

But hey some folks like that I guess.... :horse:

I go on the "Corners are best-handling tech"  as I find that interesting and get some useful information, but other than that,,,,, not so much.
I do also enjoy dodgecharger.com as well. Even though I don't have a Charger they seem pretty welcoming!
Also hang out at protouring mopar.com although not as much traffic there lately?
Once in awhile I'll go to protouring.com but it's 90% a Camaro site.... very few Mopars.
I spent 90% of my online time on here though.  :2thumbs:

Comments or help, should be posted as though this is your bud you hang out with.
I enjoy this site because of the guys that have or had a rust bucket even a 74 ebody and did a total restoration.

If you all read your comments it is about respect, understanding, willing to communicate with common sense.

I was in a wal-wart and there was an elderly woman with a shopping cart with her middle age daughter.

Two boys about 9-11 headed straight for the cart and told the elderly woman to get the f out of the way.
Oh, how I would love to have tripped or pushed him into a rack of cloths....
Parents talk to there kids that way also.  TV has brain washed our young generation.

Most of the tv car builder shows all they do is run their toilet mouth.

Hot Rod, Gerz, Foose, Overhauling, my garge, My Classic cars, chasing classic cars, rarely cus.

I don't want to preach but we have lost our morals, , our respect for individuals.
Do not do Moparts.

It was a great site 10 years ago, now not so much. There are some really knowledgeable guys on there and sometimes you can get an answer to a tough question really quick, then you have to ignore the other 200 replies from the highschoolers. I always refrain from trying to help people on there though, there's always 20 people with 1 month experience with Mopars that know more than I do, so why bother.

Yeah I agree.

I know a few years ago the site always had some fun and interesting discussions. Today it seems like every other post is about penguins, bacon, Tastycakes and California. I understand that every forum has it's inside jokes but every other thread somehow turns into look at this penguin in California eating bacon and tastycakes is getting old real fast.

There are some great build threads on their and some great people that answer questions but I agree that they have lost a lot of members that are knowledgeable just because of that nonsense.

I think if they just made an off topic forum the site would be a lot better. They say the general forum is for "Musclecar/Moparts Related Topics (activities, events, SEMA Action Network, " but just went on and over 1/2 the topics on the first page are off topic.

Thanks for the opinion everyone, glad I'm not the only one that is thinking this way
