   I looked back though a few posts but couldn't find anything?

ECS spent the last day or so deleting all of his posts before he departed. That is why there are gaps in these threads...

:eek7:  :sly:  :eek7:  Well since I am the only MOD named Dave . . . I assume he is talking about me . . . and have completely no idea what he is talking about??  :clueless:

Oh well . . . .  :screwy:

 :drama:

Well, technically Challengerhk is a mod also. And his name is David.  Don't know if he said anything. But personally
I never read any of the posts from ECS anyway. Can't say a whole lot about someone that would take the time
to remove all of their posts so no one else could benefit from it.  :clueless:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Nope. He decided about 6 weeks ago to terminate his sponsorship on his own. He was no longer a sponsor here...

Hopefully he will still be making stuff. I need a Vin rubbing thing and a door sticker to replace mine when I go to paint it.

Indeed, ECS has been banned/kicked off every other major Mopar forum.  I was very surprised to see him here as a sponsor.

I found this over on the Survivor vs. Restoration thread.  Maybe he got tired of the double standards.   :dunno:

"you will not find ONE legitimate definition for the word "restore" that means ANYTHING other than its original definition.

The original definition, i.e., the earliest definition, or at least the earliest definition that I can find,  is the return of a monarchy after a period of absence. Is that the "original definition" you mean?  :roflsmiley: Or would you say that the word has changed definitions over the centuries, just as it's changing now?"

Dave, you're truly painting yourself to be an ass. Now take this as you will, but this is my heartfelt, serious advice to help you not look like an ass. If I were in your position, I would say this: "I don't prefer to use the word restoration in that context." That way, reality can be reality, and you can maintain your opinion. Let me show you how this can work.

I personally very much dislike the term "survivor" as it's used in the hobby. The cars that are called survivors didn't survive anything; more often than not, they've been pampered. However, that's the way that survivor is used, and I accept that. Every now and then I make my opinion known, and make sure it's phrased as an opinion, and then I drop it.

So, the word "restoration" is used in the hobby in the context and phrase that Alan has described. You don't have to like it, but you also can't wish it away, and trying to do so is making you look stubborn, not informed. The phrase exists, and people use it. Take my advice, make your peace with it, and move on.

Can't say as I blame him as he used the term I think "arrogant ignorance" in a reply to someone, (possibly Alan or someone else), and gets jumped all over cause of calling someone names .  Yet ChallengerHK, who is a moderator, called Dave (ECS) an "ass" (see above in bold!) and nothing happens, no reprimand or anything to my knowledge.  Maybe something was said behind the curtain in a PM to him, maybe not.  I'm not an Admin or even a mod so it wouldn't be my place.  Personally if I was in Dave's shoes, I probably would have done the same thing.  I know at my police dept job, there are double standards and I know it just irks me to living end while different people are held to a different set of standards.  I had something similar happen to me at Moparts probably close to 5 or more years ago and I just quit going there or even posting there probably for a good two years, maybe more.  At what point does someone continually seem to get attacked for posting facts and others post inaccurate or false things only to be applauded or supported while the person posting proven facts gets an onslaught of attacks or negative comments made towards him.  Maybe some of you aren't as passionate about cars or restoration work as I am, but you better believe if I have the facts to prove something, I'm going to fight every inch of the way to prove my point whether other people like it or not.  Same goes for honesty, you purposely mis-represent something and then try to pass it off as original, I have a problem with that too.

Again, this is just my observation on this matter.  Its a darn shame that someone with all that knowledge, facts, and close ties to Chrysler who has helped countless people with his restorations and other methods of restoring things gets run off of this forum.  I am personally grateful for him posting his process' on the way things were ACTUALLY done at the factory vs. some incorrect accepted way on how things are done now.  This is the whole reason why I have been posting the stuff I am finding on our GTX vert in this forum and sharing what I have learned and done.  Hopefully the forum doesn't discourage me like it seems to have done with Dave.
