Joinning the team

Hi I would like to start my adventure her with you.
My car is a 1971 Challenger RT 383 4 speed.  I am the son of the original owner and the car was bought brand new in november 1970 in Texas while my Father was on a airforce base there. I was haveing the car restored at a shop and log story short the owner is no longer above ground and my car is left un finnishe and in peices. It was at the time I drove it there 90 % factory original. Save for headders and exhaust that I put on and intake and carb that my father optioned in at time of sale.
Here are before and after pics.

Beautiful car, and great that it's kept within the family.  Just about anything you need to put it back together someone here has done or can point you in the right direction. Welcome!

Well, as of right now the car sits in the shop as in the picture on a body dolly. I am nervous about getting it on a flatbed this way but I don't have much for options seeing that many of my parts are mia that would allow me to get it on its wheels. Ie rear drop out, I have my housing but no bering caps.???. I have to go through with the probate process to get some if any of my investment back. All the loose parts I picked up and have in my garage and I am putting together what I can with my recolection of how it once was. Right now I am trying to assemble the k member but am short a lot of bolts. Then when my new center section comes in I'll put that in and wait until I get up some fortitude to get the body here. Thats what is happening now, Thanks for being here as I will be needing much help with this.

Welcome to the board Bluemonster!  That's a really sad situation.  You kind of got hosed in that deal for sure.  Has all the body work (if any was needed) already been done? We've been working on restoring a 70 Challenger and have documented just about everything with pics.  Here's our website http://our70challenger.moparpages.com/

Glad you joined.  I know ANY question you have regarding your car can and will be answered here.

Blue, thats a shame that had to happen to you and your car, i hope you can at least recover the parts. You need those bearing caps for the rear, without them the housing is scrap iron, as they are machined together with the housing for a mated set.
Welcome to the site, you've found the best Mopar site on the net.

Thanks for all the offers of help! I won't pass it up.

And Yes most of the body work is done. Trunk floors lower quarter patches are in and the whole body is ready for paint except one spot on the hood needs mre sanding.  I orderd the complete dropout from mancini racing so atleast I can have my rear assembled.

But thanks again. Youll see all my questions as soon as I get the body back so I can put it together take it apart put together.........

Welcome, and that sure is a bust the way that all evolved, are you getting cooperation from the shop about letting you find your parts for the car? Good luck, for sure the site here will help and support you, stay focused, it will work out.
