More progress back at the mechanic side of the shop. Hood hinges still on the list to paint. Guess they wanted to get it all bolted and aligned.
Thanks , Keith

Use a small jack and open up the hood springs so paint gets in places when they're unsprung.

Use a big gun at first. Then follow it up with a door jam gun to get paint in smaller areas.

It'll come out nice that way.

I always wonder about painting those springs, isn't normal paint gonna crack when the springs move?

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Sprung the ol gal from paint prison a few days ago. Not looking too shabby. Have some misc parts getting polished still, but the car and stuff is home.

Very nice! Love the color. Have a few questions about the build. How exactly did you solve the oil stick tube to the NAG1? Assume you did not modify the tunnel, any picts of that? How did you run the AC hoses to the compressor? Are those what I see under the brake cylinder? Have you decided on a console? I will try to use my stock shifter by taking the electronics out of the plastic Nag1 shifter and put them in the stock shifter.

The trans dip stick tube was modified by the mock up guy in Michigan. Not sure how he did it or if I even have a stick. They don't come with one. Just a cap to remove for filling trans fluid.
The lines you see under the master cylinder are for the hydroboost/power brake unit. The one A/C line runs back behind the engine along the firewall to the underdash unit in the car. The other goes by the radiator and goes in and out of the condenser and back down the passenger side to the underdash unit. I haven't got it up on the lift to see how they did it exactly. The Roadrunner is up and the Chall is under it. I will be moving the RR to the other bay in the shop soon so I can get the Chall on the lift and look at stuff.
The console is from a late model Charger. They made it fit with the stock late model shifter, but it still needs to be finished/built  forward of the shifter. Going to make it hold a 2Din stereo in right below the dash in the console. Plus it has a large storage area and cup holders :bananasmi built in.
Thanks , Keith
