Are these like a fish plate on both sides of the chassis connectors ? Do you plan on putting a cross brace from side to side to tie in these connectors and incorporate a tailshaft loop in the crossmember, I have done this before myself and used bent to form 2" tubing as the cross braces.

Sorry , but I am not that knowledgeable about this stuff.I don't know what a fish plate is. This is a pic of the car when I got it. The subframe connectors were already installed and are quite solid and heavy duty. See pic. All he is doing is boxing them in so they look like a frame rail that belongs there. I hadn't planned on adding any more braces or tailshaft loop. Not going to be used for any drag racing or road course stuff. Just a nice cruiser with plenty of power and modern suspension, brakes and engine management. Being a convertible, the connectors are almost a necessity. Body flexes and things get out of align.
Thanks , Keith

I see what has been done now.  :2thumbs: You started off with box tubing as chassis connectors, your guy has put in plates to connect the box up to the floor. Good idea to get extra strength and support for the box, I always thought that style your car originally had was a weaker form of adding strength, your guy has done a good thing. Ask him if he could add in a cross brace with tailshaft loop, it will stiffen up your car even more, especially being a convertible, all the help you can give it, the better the ride will be.

Can you post a pic of the crossbrace and tail shaft loop? I don't know what it would look like. I am very stock minded and all of this stuff makes me :nono: . I would have to see one installed. I can live with the frame connectors, but probably not much more.

Hey buddy, I am away and using my Wife's laptop at the moment.

Try have a look on here. http://www.usmuscle.com.au/Forum/showthread.php?t=2897
Scroll down to the member S[_]SPECT , he is the 9th reply. I have done a similar crossmember to what he has pictured, except what I do has a better incorporated tailshaft loop, but the crossmembers give you a general idea to what I was talking about. I am actually designing a structure for Mopar E-bodies to have removable crossmembers in them when I build my convertible also, as I too like the idea of having the car original and a bolt in member is more appealing than a fully welded in structure, but I do not mind the chassis connectors when they are executed properly. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the info. I don't see any possible chance for one of those in my car. The underneath is going to be body color and looking into getting exhaust system ceramic coated and polished like the headers. I'm not going to be able to live with all that under there.
Thanks , Keith

:2thumbs: totally understandable, what has bee performed and to what you said you are using the car for, what you have fitted will be a substantial change over stock factory non bracing.  :clapping:
