I was asked how the clearance was on the wiper motor to coil covers and whatever that stuff on the back of the motor is. Here are a few pics with the wiper motor installed.
Thanks , Keith

So after a few months of looking at the car and being upset with the finish on the paint (orange peel), I had the car sanded and rebuffed. Now it looks like it should have when
I got it back from the body shop. Time to start putting it back together.
Thanks , Keith

That color really pops.  :ylsuper: I'm really surprised the body shop didn't cut and buff the paint before they gave it back to you.  That should be SOP for a paint job like that.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Lots of miscommunications. They sanded it and buffed it but not all the way down. The shop is the fabrication shop that I was having some changes done at. They gave me a price and I held them too it. They are one of those shops that runs everything by the hour. They quoted me $3000 higher than the shop we usually use, but they were removing everything that was mocked up and putting it back. So it ran when it went in, and ran when it came home. That being said, they said they never said they were doing a show quality finish although I never expected anything but. Their body and paint guys are extremely inefficient and billed way over the quote (like $5K) and when I told them that I wasn't happy with the finish, he said he wasn't loosing any more money on my car. He wanted another $2000 to sand it smooth and rebuff it.  They also do interior work, but I'm not going there. I learned my lesson.  :faint:
Thanks , Keith

Little more progress. Working with Challenger Gary on the stripes. Almost got that figured out. Put the front end together. Working on the LED tail lights and hope to have that wired soon. Lots of small obstacles in the way, but slow progress is better than no progress :cooldancing:

Like the front bumper paint job. Very unique. Is the rear done the same way? What headlights are you using?

That is the way the 71 R/T with rubber bumpers were painted. May not be exact, but it's close. Rear is the same way.

I found the last set of pics a bit unnerving.

No matter how I turned it those headlights kept staring at me. Lol.

Beautifully done

The Challenger really looks good will it be at the Easter car show? How does the challenger stop without being power brakes?
