Few more items on. Got the flaming rivers tilt column installed and now it will start with the key in the ignition instead of with a push button to crank. Flip lock cap on. Need to find someone that can finish this console. It started as a late model charger, but with the shifter , I need it and want to get it built up to the dash. Any sources appreciated.
Thanks , Keith

What exactly is the issue with the ignition, I was told to get a starter button also. Why doesn't it start with the stock ignition key, what is different in your new column?

This is a modern Hemi problem. The key on provides 12V to the computer. Then looses 12V when you go to crank position. This is the way the factory non tilt column ignition switch works. The crank circuit bypasses the ballast resistor and the run circuit goes through it. If you run both crank and key on to 12V, the transition back to the key on from crank has a second or 2 delay before providing 12V again thus making the computer reset and not run. Delay relays won't let the car shut off when you turn the key off and thats another whole weird situation.
The tilt column has a GM type ignition switch that keeps the key on position hot while you change to crank position.
Thanks , Keith

That is the way the 71 R/T with rubber bumpers were painted. May not be exact, but it's close. Rear is the same way.
I didn't know that either. I thought it was your own idea. Looks good.

Aha, thanks for the good explanation! Got it. Now I got tempted to open up a ignition lock and see how its made and if I can modify it somehow. Would be cool to have it the old way, but I don't wanna get a new column.

You teased us with your F14 workbench- so what other pins do you have?
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

I have a few pretty good titles. I did sell 4 a little while back to help pay for this car. Been at it for 22 years and have owned over 350 pinball machine. Some bought and sold, some to keep. some to restore. I don't have any to sell right now, but T3 is going in a couple of months. Always looking for games to buy. I have some Megatouch machines and 4 Rock-Ola CD jukeboxes currently for sale if you know anyone looking.

Nice! We played Theatre and Tales of the Arabian nights along with Pinbot and Eclipse in league last night. Some of the guys in our league put on the Pin-A-Go Go show in Dixon, CA. They have a lot of cool titles. Someday I hope to have a nice game room like yours.

Got the dash gauges the way I want now. No longer mounted to the bezel. Mounted in their own housing and the bezel installs over the top like original. Dash going in soon then can see if the Flaming Rivers column is too short like I suspect it is. Based on measurements , the steering wheel may end up under the dash hood. I may have to have a extension made like the original column had. Flaming Rivers assures me they sell this column for an e-body with no complaints. This will be the 3rd modification I will have to make to get this column that is designed and made for my car to actually work !!! >:(
Thanks , Keith

Dash setup is awsome
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.
