Will it fit.... options?
« on: February 10, 2014 - 04:35:22 PM »
Hi guy´s,
i tried the search, but did not find the thing i am looking for.
I don´t have much knowledge in this field so here goes.

I have a ´71 Challenger with stock front and rear end (8 3/4)
i had already ordered 17x9 Mopar Ralley Wheel with 5" backspacing , all around, from YO, now they have contacted me from YO an told me that the wheels are not due until late April, beginning of May.
That is to long time for me so i was planing on going with my originally idea, Torq thrust M wheel.

I have ordered 2" drop spindle from Magnum force and a Wilwood disk brake kit on the front and plan on going with the drum brake in the back for now.
Hotchkis dampers on all corners an Hotchkis sway bar kit front & back

So i was wondering what will fit the car in terms of backspacing, without going in to major overhauling of the front or the rear end.
I was thinking about 17" on all four corners, 17x8 front & 17x9-17x9.5 in the back,
but i don´t have any clue of what backspacing will fit while the car as it is now, stock.

I appreciate all comments an pictures ;)

Thank´s

Atli Már

The 17X8's in the front will work with a 4.5 - 5" backspace. Torque Thrust M 9" wheels have a 6" BS I believe. You will need to measure the distance from the face of your drums to the edge of the rear springs to see what BS you need back there. I moved my rear springs in and don't remember how much space the stock location gave you.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
