In those pictures, where is the weight of the car supported, under the frame, or under the rear axle ?Looks to me like the rear axle is just hanging down in it's lowest position...
I'm thinking when the weight is on the springs they will go in the correct position. I remember having the same concern.
Of course Brad is right
NO...if there is no weight on the axle right now, the spring/shackles are in the correct position...they will go back as weight goes on.Of course Brad is right
You can put a small block of wood in between the frame and spring if you are concerned, i would recommend a block that is about 1-1/2" think, it will then drop out once you put the car back on wheels.
Wow . . . Chryco could use a helper!
My first thought is that you got A-body springs. Did you buy SuperStock leafs? They are 2 inches shorter than the stock/XHD springs.I managed to dig these up: http://www.hotrodreference.com/1105/mopar-passenger-car-leaf-spring-dimensions/http://www.dippy.org/forum2/index.php?topic=209.0
