Brake pushrod
« on: February 17, 2014 - 09:38:40 PM »
Hi everyone! I got a 73 Challey, 340, factory 4 spd, pwr brakes. Ive seen a ton of adjustable brake push rods for manual. Does anyone make one for power brake? It has the bellcrank.

Every power brake system I've seen has an adjustable push rod coming out of the power brake booster. You have to remove the master cylinder to adjust it. :2cents:

No not that one, thats to close the gap at the MC valve, the one comes off the pedal to the booster bellcrank.

Not necessarily. You can adjust the master 1 a little for response but the pedal could need a larger adjustment. You can't really adjust the master side past contact or it engages the master system.....

I understand that, but how much more pedal adjustment would you need other the stock location?  :clueless:
Unless the original poster wants to get away from the stock pedal location, then of course he would be looking at modifying a piece for his individual needs :2cents:

Right, just installed a 4 spd conversion, brake pedal is a scoech lower than the go. I only need it up a leeetle bit for good power brk op. Yes, the shoes are adjusted barely dragging.

Answer me this if you will, Why are there several options for manual adjustable rods but not one for power?

There are none available for a factory application, there're only for people adding aftermarket master cylinders I believe. :dunno:
