AMD Bummper....rear 1970 Barracuda
« on: February 18, 2014 - 11:09:21 PM »
I got my AMD rear bumper from Year One a few weeks ago, and finally got around to installing it this past weekend. Many have asked what they look like and how well they are made and fit.

As you can see the bumper comes well wraped for shipping.

It is hard to see in this photo, but the trimed end from the original and the AMD differ, the original it rounded and the AMD is squared off, not a big deal as you cannot see it once installed.

Here are the bumpers side by side....the old one is the dented one.   :poopoke:  The AMD looks good and original.

Checkout that chrome finish.......very nice and no bluing or copper showing through the finish.

The only issue once mounted is the fit of the ends, see how it tilts down and forward, it touches the sheet metal.  Now note this, I did not adjust the bumper for better fitment, I just installed it “as is”  I plan on fine tuning it later.

here is how it looks from the rear.  overall nice but not OEM, but better than no replacement bumper.

Those bumpers usually rely on the bumper guard/bracket to pull it down into position and hold it there. :2cents:

Very nice, looks great.

I got an AMD front bumper for my Challenger, exceptionally nice.
For the money; 1/2 the price of getting the original rechromed, no way to beat it.

Installed my rear -70 Barracuda AMD bumper a month ago and I am very happy with it. As you are saying, the ends points down slightly but I can live with that.

Great product!

Good to know Alan, I didn't adjust it yet as I wanted to see the fitment.  I did notice that there is some (limited) adjustment in the brackets.  Once I get the bumper guards back from chrome plating I will re-adjust the bumper.

Yeah, most people wouldn't even notice it.   :2thumbs:
